Meth-Wick Home & Health has a reputation for skilled and knowledgeable staff. Our Certified Nursing Assistants receive eight hours of intense training on dementia. Additional training focuses on Parkinson’s, and diabetes, ensuring the best possible care for clients with these medical conditions. The care team for each client also receives additional training in the client’s home so that client and staff are familiar and comfortable with one another. This also enables staff to orient themselves on the locations of specific items that will be needed for the client’s care.
Our Home & Health operations director is in touch with her staff daily to make sure each caregiver understands her duties. She also visits clients in their home for feedback and assesses whether any changes are needed in health care or home chores.
Meth-Wick Home & Health caregivers enjoy the special relationships they develop with their clients. Every member of our staff has a passion for helping people.
Certified Nursing Assistant
“Being helpful and kind to people is very rewarding.”
Rosemary is a people person and her job choice reflects that. She became a Home & Health certified nursing assistant to help clients “with anything they need.” She enjoys assisting clients with medications, appointments, wellness checks, exercise and cooking.
“I have a passion for helping people.”
Robyn’s memory of her grandfather in a nursing home and her heartbreak at not being able to help him inspired her to care for others, especially elderly people. “Being able to help people and do the things they are no longer able to do themselves is the best part of my job,” she says.
Certified Nursing Assistant
“I absolutely enjoy helping people.”
In the fall of 2011, Ann moved from Minnesota to the Cedar Rapids area and worked at Meth-Wick’s The Woodlands as a certified nursing assistant (CNA) for over two years. Ann describes her job as doing whatever a client needs.
“My clients know I really care about them.”
Roselyn enjoys helping people and worked as a caregiver for another health care facility before joining Home & Health. She also finds great satisfaction visiting people in nursing homes and hospitals, and volunteering for the Area Substance Abuse Council.
“I have an honest passion for helping people.”
Tali is the daughter of a nurse and an Episcopalian priest/therapist, so compassion and caring are in her DNA. As a Registered Nurse for Home & Health, she is responsible for medication management and administration, wound care, coordinating with family and medical teams, supervising blood pressure clinics, and coordinating lab work.
Clinical Nurse Manager
“I enjoy helping clients stay in their home.”
As clinical nurse manager, Cindy is responsible for supervising Meth-Wick Home & Health Services. Before joining Home & Health in August 2016, she held a number of positions that contributed to her in-home nursing expertise. These include Certified Nurse Aid Instructor, Director of Nursing, Nurse Consultant and contributor to textbooks for CNAs.
Home & Health Coordinator
“My job gives me the satisfaction of knowing I am helping those in need.”
As Home & Health’s coordinator, Marcy schedules CNAs and transportation for clients. Her current job, along with a bachelor’s degree in sociology and past experience working with mentally challenged and disabled adults, reflect her commitment to making a difference in peoples’ lives.
